Yes I can recreate the environment and would love to give a talk on this. We have a lot of focus at the moment on finding the root cause of problems so I am thankful that my employer gives me the time to be able to do this kind of work. There is also an additional update statement in the script to updated the ReplicationLatency table setting the publication name to @publication where the publ;ication name is 'x'. Messy i know but it was the quickest way I found to update the publication name. SET PARTNER command fails on the principal, you may need to re-run the command on the mirror before you re-run it on the principal.
